Countdown UFL: Week 2
By Peter "Bash" Smith

Hello Countdown fans.
Wasn’t it an exciting week last week? Man it felt good to watch football
again. I was all over the Sunday ticket.
Last week
I was 3 for 3. Wow, talk about rust. It’s safe to say I’m not fully back
to speed. Then again it was only the 1st week. So, here we go
hoping to regain my form. Here’s the breakdown.
Oakland
vs. Cincinnati
The Bengals rolled last week, as predicted, and I don’t think they will roll
again this week. Lamont Jordan goes up against Baltimore D, Cadillac versus
the Falcons and more so Kurt Warner going up against Seattle D. On the flip
side, Clinton Portis will be getting the start and will have more carries and
Culpepper will throw for two and maybe run for one. Winner:
Oakland
Philadelphia
vs. Tennessee
This one is easy. The Eagles will get their first win and handily. This is the
wrong week for the Eagles to step it up but it will happen because the whole
starting lineup will perform better than last week. Winner:
Philadelphia
Atlanta
vs. Tampa Bay
The Falcons got an excellent performance from Frank Gore and Reggie Bush. This
week, Lawrence Maroney will be in the starting lineup. I do expect the
Buccaneers to play much better this week but will come up short again. The
Falcons will roll and they will get about the same production from their
running backs and get a better one from their QB. Rumor has it the Favre will
get the nod this week. Winner:
Atlanta
Green
Bay vs. New Orleans
This one just might be the game of the week. New Orleans profited from great
production last week as did the Packers. It’s a hard to call this one, but
I’m going to go with the team that has, in my opinion, the best player in
the NFL today. In my view that’s Ladainian Tomlinson. Winner:
Green Bay
Chicago
vs. Buffalo
The Bills just staggered right off the bat. Kind of like a running back that
gets the ball and then loses his footing and is bent over while trying to run
hard. The Bears were just lucky they faced a weak team. This week will be
different. This week we will see production out of Matt Hasselbeck and he will
beat out the production from Peyton Manning. Also, Larry Johnson won’t put
up great numbers again. Winner:
Buffalo
Dallas
vs. New York
For some considered the Supreme bowl preview. This one is very tough to call.
I have to take into consideration whether Steve Smith makes his return or not.
But I’m going to call it without Steve Smith and call it a close one with
the Cowboys winning by less than 5 points. Those who have the Sunday ticket
should be watchful for these players. Winner:
Dallas
Well guys,
that’s it for this week and this time, I am going 6-0. Haven’t done that
in a while but it’s time that I came back and come back strong. Until
next week.
